Whether he knew it or not, Tom was a very successful coach and mentor to a lot of today’s leaders, both civilian and military. | Comments: | In country before fly out to main camp. Heard lots of action in Saddams home town yesterday. Camp here ain't like the boy scouts. Tents, portapotties, trailer showers, over cooked starchy mess hall food- paradise! The unit was actually issued 1947 medical equipment! No shit! Have been scrambling to get proper MTOE equipment, luckily have gotten meds, stretchers, tourniquets, laceration kits and bandages so far. We're considered ARNG by active army and vice a versa by NGB. We're an orphan BN and getting the worst of the worst. I'm trying to hook up with the brigade but they have their own problem, their attached too until change of authority takes place- not until I leave- Mar 20! Will be a hell of a 81 days to go. I feel sorry for these guys, they have it bad for one year. Good group of scroungers though, they'll make lemonade out of it. Would love to have you set up a web site for me if you can, that would be great. Only get 15 min on line at MWR and time is hard to come b |
